Slingmax Rigging Solutions Helps Raise 2025 Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree

The holiday season officially began in New York City this weekend as the world-famous Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree was raised into place — with help from High-Performance Roundslings by Slingmax Rigging Solutions.
This year’s tree, a 75-foot-tall Norway spruce from East Greenbush, New York, was carefully felled Thursday morning before making its 150-mile journey to Midtown Manhattan on a 100-foot flatbed trailer. Donated by homeowner Judy Russ and her family, the tree was planted by her husband’s great-grandparents in the 1920s and has grown for more than 75 years before taking its place in history.
Upon arrival at 30 Rockefeller Plaza, the 11-ton tree was hoisted into position above the skating rink by Bay Crane, using cranes equipped with Slingmax synthetic roundslings. Crews and spectators gathered as the massive spruce was guided into place — a lift requiring the strength, precision, and dependability that Slingmax slings are known for across the rigging industry.
The tree will soon be wrapped with more than 50,000 multicolored, energy-efficient LED lights and crowned with a 900-pound Swarovski star before being lit on December 3 during a live TV broadcast. It will remain on display until mid-January, after which it will be milled into lumber for Habitat for Humanity, continuing its spirit of giving.
When it comes to lifting the holiday spirit, nothing does it quite like a Slingmax synthetic sling!
